Don't blink too quick or you just might miss the dramatic change that a little spray paint created!
So I got this chair at the Goodwill for $10! I know! So fun ANNNNNDDDDD it's a rocker……which makes the fun factor triple in my opinion.
It was in pretty good shape but the color was not speakin' to me.
I was originally gong to recover it in white vinyl (how amazing would this look all shiny and stuff!) but then realized that I would not be able to recreate those cool lines in the back if I did that. Those lines are molded into the vinyl. I would love to figure out how they do that.
I got to prepping it by just giving it a good cleaning and for some reason spray paint came to mind..maybe it was the fumes of the cleanser, hmmmmm….that made me jump to fumes of spray paint but spray paint it I did!
Wanna see?
Oh, how I love this chair white!
All I did was remove the side arms, set them aside for a good Hemp Oil revival, wrap the legs in a plastic trash bag and spray away.
Prep is key:
clean clean clean your piece
give the vinyl a light sanding, yes you can do this with vinyl
Use a good primer and do 2 coats
Do several light coats of your final color so there are no drips
I just think this chair looks so much more classic and fabulous in white
Would you ever try to spray paint a chair?
Have you ever spray painted a chair?
Always being renewed,
