Ever wonder why I love Jiffy Pop so much?

No? Okay then this is not the post for you. You may think it has something to do with my most favorite Halloween creation eva…..
but I actually made this costume BECAUSE….this is about Christmas and for Christmas
we use Jiffy Pop….a lot!
Like every Christmas one of the kids teachers or crossing guard or babysitter is going to get one of these babies…..
You used to be able to remove the Jiffy Pop cover and then pop the fun foam face (say that 10 times….really fast!) under the metal lip. But now it has some fancy pull tab so we have to just tape the face onto the Jiffy Pop. We were going to glue it down but realized you won't have access to the tab if you do that so tape it is! We did not use fun foam for this project this year because frankly, I am way behind and this was a train wreck trig to find the Jiffy Pop. Target used to sell it and I'd pick up boat loads of it when I saw it but not this year. So I had to go to the Jiffy pop website and call around to where they "might" sell it! Luckily a Shop N' Save near us carries it so we made these a little last minute! But Fun Foam looks much better and is more durable if you are going to be sending these in the mail.

I still love how these turn out every year!

Which do you like better…the snowman or the gingerbread face?

Welcome Baby Jesus Shim Project

I had a lot of shims left over from the Shimmy Christmas Trees so I decided to use them in the best way possible… to declare the true reason for the Christmas Season.  This was so simple but it one of those projects that I just love.

I just used an old frame I had laying around, some twine, a few beads and some greenery. So simple….
Much like the way the King came into this world so many years ago.

Free Fakey Gingerbread Bakey Decorations

So here's another quick $0 cost way to add a cute homey touch to your house. Make fake gingerbread cutouts!

How you say????

Just guess……yes! you are all so smart. you must have seen this one coming.

CARDBOARD!

My littlest Tessa gave me the idea when she cut out a Christmas tree and gave it to me as an early Christmas present. It was so cute and quaint that I thought we should add more of these. M girls were more than happy to help out and we cut out lots of Christmas trees from our pizza cardboard circles from dinner that night!

Oh you don't save those for crafts? Well, we do. Otherwise I'd have to buy cardboard every other week. My girls are serious crafters and use cardboard on a regular basis to build all manner of architecture….Since Friday night is pizza night…..free cardboard saves on a weekly basis!

I definitely believe in having decorations that reflect your family…the whole family.
Even if it means there might be a small odor de pepperoni instead of pine needles that tickles your nose as you enter our home.
Great memories are worth it.

Always being renewed,
